Bioland Gemüseselbsternte / Vegetable Self Harvesting

Hast Du Lust auf viel frische Luft, Bewegung und gesellige Zusammenarbeit mit einem freundlichen und motivierten Gemüsebauern? :) Aktuell suchen wir von April bis Mitte Juni noch Wwoofer:innen!
Du wirst dabei Teil unserer bunten Patchwork-Familie und lebst in einem gemütlich ausgebauten Wohnwagen.
Unsere Bioland Gemüseselbsternte "gartenglück" rund um Köln gibt es schon seit 2005. Wir verpachten auf 3 Äckern fertig bepflanzte Gemüseparzellen. Die Pflege und Ernte des Gemüses übernehmen die Kunden, wir begleiten sie im Laufe des Sommers bei regelmäßigen Ackerterminen und Workshops und versorgen sie mit neuen Jungpflanzen.
Wir wohnen als Deutsch-Russisch-Honduranische Familie mit unserer Katze Mascha in einem Haus auf dem Land am Rande von Bergisch Gladbach. Dort haben wir einen 0,6 ha großen Garten, inkl. einer großen Gemüsefläche zur Selbstversorgung. Eine kleine Hühnerschar wohnt unter den alten Bäumen im Garten.
Im Sommer und Herbst geniessen wir sehr die kulinarische Verarbeitung unseres Gemüses - frisch zum täglichen Essen aber auch als Eingelegtes für den Winter. Beizeiten machen wir Feuerholz. Diverse Vorbereitungen für den dynamischen Frühling fallen im Winter ebenfalls an, wie z.B. Arbeitsgeräte warten, Keimtests des Saatguts machen...
Ab Februar geht dann unsere Hauptsaison los. Die Jungpflanzenvoranzucht beginnt. Wir fahren ab März auf's Feld und legen die Parzellen an. Es werden Beete abgesteckt, Zäune werden gezogen, es wird gesät und gepflanzt - teils mit dem Traktor und Sä- bzw. Pflanzmaschine, teils per Hand.
Zuhause kümmern wir uns um die kleinen Pflänzchen: Paprika, Chilis, Physalis, Tomaten, Zucchini, Gurke und Kürbis etc..
Zudem haben wir eine kleine Imkerei aufgebaut, 14 Bienenvölker wohnen bereits in unserem Garten.
Wir sind sehr an Austausch auf Augenhöhe interessiert und freuen uns, die uns besuchenden Wwoofer:innen je nach eigenem Potenzial und Bedürfnis bei uns zu integrieren!
Wir lieben bunte Geselligkeit und sind früher selber viel in der Welt herum gekommen. Johanna (41) hat u.A. in Holland und in Honduras gelebt, Genia (46) kommt ursprünglich aus Russland und war in Neuseeland, Australien und Malaysia unterwegs.
Neben unseren erfüllenden Berufen als Gemüsebauer (hauptberuflich) und Kreativtherapeutin (nebenberuflich) machen wir auch noch gerne Musik und üben Yoga. Gemeinsam Spielen, Wandern, Pilze und Wildkräuter sammeln und abends zusammen am Feuer sitzen geniessen wir ebenfalls!
Johanna hat 2 Kinder. Genia hat 3 Kinder. Sie sind zwischen 12 und 20 Jahre alt.
Die Kölner City erreicht man von uns aus in nur 30 min per Auto, bzw. 45 min per Bus und S-Bahn.
Es gibt im Bergischen Land viele schöne Wanderwege und ein paar Stauseen, in denen man im Sommer toll baden kann.

What does Vegetable Self Harvesting mean?
In spring we sow and plant more than 30 different kinds of vegetables in Cologne and close to Bonn. The fields are then divided into parcels of ca. 60 m² and people who live in the cities and want to enjoy their own fresh veggies can rent a parcel for one season. From May on the people themselves are in charge of their parcel. They foster the plants and can regularly harvest. We go to the fields approx. once a week to offer advice and some new seedlings for sale. During winter, the plots go back to our care and a parcel may be rented again, next year.
We live 25 km East from Cologne in a house with a big garden, where we also enjoy cultivating vegetables and herbs for our daily meals during summer. If you would like to experience WWOOF at our place, you will have a cozy caravan as your private space.
We are Genia (45) and Johanna (40) and together with 5 children (between 11 and 19) we form a German-Russian-Honduran patchwork family. Besides farming, we also like arts, music and dancing... basically, we love sharing life with all kinds of people from any kind of background.
Also, we have one cat named Masha, 13 chicken and there are 14 bee colonies in our garden.

Ich hatte eine ganz tolle Zeit mit Genia Und Johanna sowie Nadja, einer anderen Wooferin.
Alle sehr nett, tolle Gespräche, interessante Arbeit, leckeres Essen!
Sehr schön auch das gemeinsame Yogen und Musik machen.
Ich komm bald wieder. ☺️🙋♂️

I had a very nice wwoofing experience at Gartenglueck. Genia and Johanna are not only very kind hosts, but also aware and respectful of other cultures. I felt no restrictions in sharing my stories, beliefs, and following my own daily routine (prayer). Me and Genia were the first ones to wake up everyday, and we started our day with a cup of coffee for each, which Genia made with great passion. If there were things to do, we would begin the work earlier until others woke up, otherwise we would just sit and talk about different things we knew. The topic was never important, Genia was a good listener) At 8 am we would practice yoga with others, which again Genia led with great deliberation. I had the chance to lead the group for one day, and the next day we did the 108 Suryanamaskar. Then we would go straight to breakfast. Everything I ate and used there was Bio, even the shampoo and soap in the bathroom )). What is more interesting was the diversity I tasted in the food. You could taste western and eastern flavors in the same food. Once, I was asked to cook, and although the food did not seem German at all, everybody ate it with great appreciation, which I took as an indication of openness. Apart from eating, working alongside Genia and Johanna was nice, too. They led me through different aspects of bio farming, and gave me the chance to use different farming tools. I wish them good luck with their mission in spreading bio farming.
