Ich bin Linus Beste und ich glaube daran, dass Landwirtschaft auch im Kleinen funktioniert. Durch die Produktion von qualitativ hochwertigem regionalem Gemüse möchte ich Lebensmittelproduktion greifbarer (und leckerer!) machen. Weil ich glaube, dass wir ein Umdenken in der Lebensmittelproduktion brauchen um langfristig die Lebensmittelversorgung und Klimaschutz in Einklang zu bringen.
In erster Linie benötige ich Deine Hilfe bei der Gemüseproduktion - sprich Beetvorbereitung, Aussat, Pflanzen, Beikrautregulieren, Ernten und mein persönliches Highlight: Die Vermarktung auf dem Wochenmarkt und auf dem Hofverkauf. Da besteveggies erst im Februar 2022 gegründet wurde, ist alles zur Zeit noch besonders aufregend und neu für mich. Ich probiere auf meinen Feldern noch viel rum und freue mich Gemüsesorten zu testen und nach immer neuen Lösungen zu suchen, die meist viel Hirnschmalz, statt viel Geld bedeuten. Ich nutze das, was da ist und freue mich über Inspiration und Input diesbezüglich. Ich habe es (mit der Hilfe eines tollen Netzwerks in Köln) geschafft ohne viel Eigenkapital meinen Market-Gardening Betrieb aufzubauen und freue mich ständig dazuzulernen und mein Wissen weiterzugeben. Ich möchte andere inspireren und ermutigen das Gleiche zu tun.
Klassische Arbeitstage gibts bei mir nicht: Von einem 12 Stunden Markttag (Ernten, Verkauf, Abbau und weitere täglichen Arbeiten) bis zu einem freien Tag in der Großstadt Kölns ist für Dich alles möglich. Ich freue mich über jede Hilfe die ich kriegen kann und es gibt eigentlich immer was zu tun.
Köln selber hat viel zu bieten und entgegen des mäßigen Rufs hat das Umland für Natur- und Sportfreunde mehr zu bieten als man allgemein denkt. Ob Kultur, Party, Essen, Sport, Wandern, Campen, Party oder Rhein-Beach - Köln kann Einiges!
Du wohnst mit mir in einem kleinen Häuschen 15 Fahrradminuten (ich kann dir ein Fahrrad leihen) vom Feld entfernt (in Köln Ensen) auf dem Dachboden in einem gemütlichen 1,40 Bett (bei zwei WWOOFern teilt ihr euch das großzügige Zimmer habt aber natürlich eure eigenen Betten). Wir teilen uns das Bad und die Küche und es gibt einen gemütlichen Innenhof der zu einem schönen Feierabendbierchen einlädt. Für die tägliche Verpflegung sorge ich zwar, allerdings fehlt mir oft die Zeit viel zu kochen. Daher freue ich mich wenn du vielleicht Spaß daran hast und wir gemeinsam den Kochlöffel schwingen - das ist aber absolut kein Kriterium!

I'm Linus Beste and I believe that farming works on a small scale. By producing high-quality regional vegetables, I want to make food production more tangible (and delicious!). Because I believe that we need to rethink our food production and reconcile long-term food supply and climate protection.
First and foremost, I need your help for the vegetable production - i.e. bed preparation, sowing, planting, weed control, harvesting and my personal highlight: selling at the weekly market and at the farm sale. I am still trying out a lot on my fields and am happy to test new vegetable varieties and look for ever new solutions, which usually mean a lot of brainpower, instead of money. I use what's there and welcome inspiration and input in that regard. I have managed (with the help of a great network in Cologne) to build up my market gardening business without equity and am happy to constantly learn and share my knowledge. I am happy to inspire and encourage others to do the same.
Classical working days do not exist for me: From a 12 hour market day (harvesting, selling, dismantling and other daily work) to a day off in the big city of Cologne. I am happy about any help I can get and there is always something to do.
Cologne itself has a lot to offer and contrary to its moderate reputation, the surrounding area has more to offer for nature and sports lovers than is generally thought. Whether culture, party, food, sports, hiking, camping, party or Rhine Beach - Cologne can do a lot!
You live with me in a small house 15 minutes by bike (I can lend you a bike) from the field in the 'loft' in a cozy 1.40 bed. We share the bathroom and the kitchen and there is a cozy courtyard that invites you to a nice after work beer. I will take care of the daily meals, but I don't have the time to cook much. Therefor I am happy if you help with cooking - if you want!
