LAGE: Im wunderschönen Mittelsachsen zwischen Leipzig und Dresden in einem winzigen, idyllischen Dörfchen gelegen. Unser Hof hat einen fantastischen Blick auf die Burg Mildenstein in Leisnig. BESCHREIBUNG: Wir sind eine junge Familie, die seit fast acht Jahren einen alten Bauernhof wieder zum Leben erweckt. Unser Ziel ist es, im Einklang mit der Natur zu leben und sich weitgehend selbst zu versorgen. Dazu müssen die Hofgebäude fertig hergerichtet werden, der Bauerngarten rekultiviert werden und unsere Tiere bedürfen natürlich auch täglicher Pflege. Doch ganz wichtig ist es auch, nach getaner Arbeit abends an der Feuerschale den Tag entspannt ausklingen zu lassen! Ab Februar fallen die ersten Lämmer und Osterhäschen, mit dem März beginnt die neue Garten- und Weidesaison, Ende Mai geht es in die Heu- und Erntezeit, im Sommer gehören Koppel- und Weidekontrolle zu den alltäglichen Aufgaben, im Herbst wird Obst gepflückt, zu Saft verarbeitet und eingemacht... da freuen wir uns über helfende Hände! Wir suchen vor allem handwerklich begabte Menschen, die uns beim Ausbau von Ställen und Gästezimmern unterstützen. Bei uns kann man den sanften Umbau historischer Bausubstanz, den Einsatz verschiedener Kalk- und Lehmputze, sowie diverse Altbausanierungsverfahren miterleben und ausprobieren! Gern kann ein Praktikum in unserem Tätigkeitsbereich "Reit- und Naturpädagogik auf Bellmanns Hof" absolviert werden. I had amusing time at Saskia and Lars farm. Every day I could do a different task and learn about daily life on the farm. Horses and dogs even they were big were really delicate so it's a good place for a wwofer without experience with farm animals. Saskia was always really patiently explaining the daily tasks. I was mostly helping with gardening and baby sitting. Margerite is the happiest baby on the world. She almost never cried. She will bright your day with her smile. Older kids are also really friendly. Karl love to play football. Hilde love horses and paintings. I was with them on the swimming pool which was a nice surprise. Food was delicious. Saskia and Lars mother are great Chefs. Lars is a barbeque master. I eat lunch and dinner together with whole family in the garden. We also watch a EUFA Euro football Matches during the evening and cheer for German team. I also meet the neighbors and have nice chit-chat with them. Everyone was super sociable. I highly recommend visit Saskia and Lars family ! As an extra only 1 hour away from Leisnig is Leipzig which is a city rich in history and night life. I spend my last weekend there. Prices of hostels were really affordable for a student pockets. I meet young people from around the world during the city walks and I even become a part of football craziness cause the match was played at Liepzig stadium. I will never forget it ! Thank you for hosting me ! I'm sending hugs and kisses to all family !

I had a rejuvenating and happy stay with Saskia and her lovely family, whom I truly thank. Arriving before the peak season and barely 10 days after the birth of their second daughter, my role was mainly to take care of the animals as Saskia usually does. For someone who had never worked with animals before, it was a great experience because it was stress-free and on a small scale but with many different animals: chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep, horses, and ponies. In the morning, I would feed them, making sure they lacked nothing, then clean the horse stables. In the afternoon, I had free time to read, walk, and explore the surroundings by bike. If you also know how to play horse and soccer guardian, you will make the children very happy! In the evening, we would feed everyone again, having dinner and going to bed in a cozy bed. On my days off, I had the opportunity to go on a nice hike following Saskia's advice, and to visit the two major cities in Saxony, Dresden and Leipzig. Another day, I was grateful to join Inès, a friend of Saskia's, to take the horses to school and give a little lesson to the children. Also, as a specialty of their farm, we all took a carriage ride around the area! I leave with many great memories :) I sincerely thank this lovely family who warmly welcomed me, shared their daily life with me, and introduced me to their peaceful region. I had an extraordinary month with Saskia and Lars! This experience was my first time WWOOFing, in January 2024. The tasks were focused on the well-being of animals during the winter season. Cleaning the stables, feeding the goats, rabbits, ponies, cows, and chickens, as well as bringing the horses in and out to the pasture, were my daily tasks. I really loved the month I spent with them! Their hospitality and kindness made my stay unforgettable, and I immediately felt at home. Their two children are adorable and were very kind to me, despite my limited German skills. Regarding outings, they took me to Leipzig twice and then to a carpool meeting point to go to Dresden a bit further away. As a horse passionate, I also had the opportunity to attend Partner Pferd, an international horse exhibition held every January, with Saskia. A special word to thanks Ines, a family friend with whom I enjoyed working so much! This WWOOFing was a rich and unforgettable human experience. I highly recommend this host for anyone who loves animals and wants to embark on the WWOOFing adventure for the first time. Vielen Dank! :)

My friend and I had such a great time on the Bellmann farm. Saskia was very accommodating and we felt at home right way. We arrived at the start on November so primarily our jobs were just feeding the animals and mucking out the horse stables. I really enjoyed the morning routine and being out in the fresh air. The whole family were lovely to be around, I would recommend the farm to anyone who wants to be out in the country side and likes horses. Cheers, Aliyah and Ana

A rich experience. Saskia and Lars are extraordinary people, not only they dedicated their time to teaching me but also took care of my well-being. I have felt accompanied and pampered. The farm has taught much thanks to the variety of animals they have, mainly what the animals need in their everyday. The children have integrated me into their family in a loving way :) I have learned a lot by working, being surrounded by nature and living together with this beautiful family.

Ich habe eine Woche auf dem Hof Bellmann verbracht, und habe dort eine sehr gute Zeit verbracht. Ein typischer Tag bestand aus Tiere füttern, Ställe ausmisten und anderweitigen Aufgaben wie neue Koppeln abzäunen. Ich habe auch an einem freien Tag Leipzig besuchen können. Die Gegend und die umliegenden Städte sind sehr schön, wenn auch klein. Man wird sehr nett in die Familie aufgenommen, man isst immer gemeinsam, und die kleinen Kinder sind sehr liebenswürdig. Auch durfte ich dort das erste Mal reiten, was mich sehr gefreut hat.
