Honestly, my week at Bauernhof Ennenbach was okay! I weeded every single day for 5hrs straight in the sun (thankfully there was another WWOOFer I could chat with!), only being with the hosts 3x in the week over shared lunch for half an hour or so. We had the afternoon free to explore, work started at 7 or 7:30am, and once we were also asked to work in the afternoon since there was so much left to weed which we did to help them out. We had our own kitchen for preparing our breakfast and dinner and some lunches, and our own comfortable rooms and time to ourselves. It was just not what I personally look for and enjoy through WWOOFing - for me the cultural exchange, building a relationship with the hosts and spending time together and hearing about each other's life stories is important and here I felt quite lonely because of my hopes not being met, I wasn't prepared to spend so much time alone. This doesn't mean that this is not a great place to stay and work and learn, but I'd recommend it more to those who are more independent, happy to spend many hours alone at home or exploring around! The fields are colourful and diverse, the family is kind and accommodating, and there are several bike and walking paths around to help you explore safely :)

I really had a great time staying with Milo & Cindy for 2 weeks. I enjoyed the variety of work we did, both on the fields and in the polytunnels, and learnt new skills and knowledge about organic farming. They have a very good structure to their day, which makes your work productive and satisfying. There is a beech forest behind their house which I enjoyed walking in the afternoons and evenings. We lived both separately and together, I had plenty of time to do things myself and also have a beer with them in the evenings. The food at the communal shared lunches was delicious, and mostly directly from the land. I would definitely come and work again with Milo & Cindy - they are warm, friendly and welcoming.

We spent a very good week at the Ennenbach farm : Milo and Cindy are very welcoming, kind and inspiring, and they explained very clearly the work that we had to help them with, which included different tasks, from planting salads to harvesting leeks (and much more !). We also made jam and garlic paste to keep for the winter :) Although we had the opportunity to talk with the family at lunch time and in the evening, we had a comfortable room, and also a separate kitchen shared with another woofer. During the weekend we went for a nice hike in the surrounding forest. Thank you again, and good luck to Milo and Cindy for their difficult but amazing work with the solawi ;)

LG Georg
