The generations of our farm can be traced back to 1650. Peter Wilken was the first owner and obvious namesake of today's Wilkenshoff. Our farm is now managed by the 13th generation and is run by a female heiress for the seventh time.
Since 1993 the Wilkenshoff has grown from a family business to an organic farm with a team of around twelve employees. Despite our expansion, today we stand for a family atmosphere, a healthy and sustainable circular economy, rare varieties and special breeds.
Our organic agriculture is a journey of conviction, which began in 2001 with the changeover to EU organic guidelines and was awarded the organic seal in 2016. We stand for courageous agriculture with old varieties, rare breeds and sustainable management, which takes responsibility for the following generations. A small part of this generation are the children of our farm kindergarten, who are allowed to experience natural agriculture up close every day. For them, too, we always want to set a good example and show how versatile a farm can still be today.
As a co-founder of the “Boomgarden Association”, we have been preserving and distributing old fruit types since 2004. On our farm you will find not only a pear avenue with over 30 different pear varieties, but also as many old apple trees.
We work every day to create a beautiful place where people feel good and where animals and nature are valued. Our doors are open to everyone - whether large or small.
